SIP Register, Login & Payment in Nepal (All Schemes)

Opening an SIP in Nepal is not difficult, but the process is easy to misunderstand. Registration, portal login, and installment payment are three separate actions, and each issue manager runs them on its own system and user interface. This page explains SIP Registration, SIP Login, and SIP Payment processes in easy steps for major open-ended schemes (SIPs) currently offered in the market.

SIPNP does not host mutual-fund accounts. You will always complete sensitive actions on the official website of the relevant issue manager. Links and menu names below are for guidance; if a live screen differs from this article, follow the live screen.

Three action steps: SIP Registration, SIP Login, and SIP Payment process

Registration is the first enrollment into a scheme’s systematic investment plan. Before starting SIP, you have to create a user and pay your first SIP installment with your details, Demat information, installment amount, and frequency.

Login is simply returning to that manager’s portal later.

Payment is the settlement of a due installment—sometimes automated via e-mandate and standing instructions, but often still done manually on a payment page.

If you are new to SIP, the first thing you have to do is register. But if you already hold units and only need to clear the monthly installments, you can pay them directly through the Issue Manager portals or via a digital wallet like Khalti by IME and eSewa.

What to prepare before registration (Documents required for SIP Registration)

Depending on the issue manager, the documentation and process may differ. Also, if you want to complete the process quickly and avoid getting stuck at any point in the documentation, you have to keep these things ready on your phone or laptop.

  • Demat account details and full BOID (forms often ask for the depository participant and the last eight digits of the BOID)
  • Demat confirmation letter, it can be obtained from your DP (Capital company or the parent of your capital companies, like a bank)
  • Citizenship certificate or National ID, plus a clear passport-size photograph in JPEG or PNG file format. Depending on the issue manager, the file format and size may be different.
  • Your bank account (your own bank account, doesn’t need to be the same bank account linked to your DEMAT Account)
  • Mobile number and email address you check regularly for OTP Verification and future requirements
  • Chosen installment amount and frequency
  • Dividend instruction, if asked—cash payout or reinvestment

Read the scheme summary and fee notes on the manager’s site before you accept the declaration. An SIP is a market-linked mutual fund purchase, not a fixed bank deposit.

Where to register and log in

Bookmark the official portal once. Do not rely on sponsored search results that merely say “SIP login.”

A login created with one manager does not open holdings at another. Nabil’s access will not show NMB units or similar.

General SIP registration sequence

Interfaces differ, yet the order of work is usually the same:

  1. Go to the issue manager portal for SIP user creation,
  2. Tap on SIP SignUp, now sign up using your Personal and DEMAT Details,
  3. Now upload the documents like National ID, Citizenship Certificate, DEMAT Confirmation letter, PP-size photo, and other mandatory documents,
  4. Verify the email address with the OTP,
  5. Set the SIP module as limited or unlimited, duration in years, payment frequency, and amount,
  6. Enable/Disable the Dividend Reinvestment option,
  7. Acknowledge all terms and conditions by tapping on the check box for terms,
  8. Review all documents before submitting for SIP registration,
  9. Pay for the first SIP installment and wait for payment confirmation and user creation.

Although the payment confirmation will be delivered to you in an instant message, user creation may take 2-3 business days, depending on the issue manager.

Paying SIP installments (SIP Payment)

Registration is the first phase of your SIP investment; besides this major initial step, the key is to keep investing and paying the same amount until the end of your SIP period. Paying the first installment is easy because it’s done while registering the SIP for the first time.

But from the second installment, it’s a confusing and hard task for many of us. This is because, with RD, the Bank doesn’t allow you to pay your next and upcoming installments at regular intervals. So, for this, payment automation is required; it works when e-mandate is enabled.

As of now, nBank by Nabil allows the standing instruction process to auto-pay the SIP installments managed by their subsidiary, Nabil Investment Banking.

Otherwise, you have to go through a manual process at each interval (month) for each SIP, which may take up your time. For manual SIP payments, you always need to know and enter your BOID, select the installments, and choose the available payment method.

Units may not appear the same hour payment succeeds. Allow for the manager’s allotment cycle on business days. Before paying twice, check whether the installment still shows as due.

Problems that come up often while SIP Registration

Sometimes the SIP Registration can’t complete. So, you have to compare every field that must be entered, without missing the mandatory field marked with an asterisk in red or green color (*). Here are the possible errors and their fixes during SIP registration,

  • Ensure all the details are filled, including the mandatory and additional details,
  • The filled details must be the same as per your Bank and existing details, as must match as per your DEMAT Details,
  • Stuck in payment process, wait for processing the payment, if not wait for payment confirmation or if not start from fresh,
  • Avoid a second payment until the first is confirmed as failed or absent from dues, or report the transaction in the statement section of the mobile banking app.

Basic Precautions in SIP Registration and Payment Process

Make sure you agree to proceed further with SIP registration without knowing these small precautions and safety practices,

  • Enter passwords only on the issue manager’s official website.
  • Verify unusual payment instructions by calling the number published on the manager’s website.
  • Confirm the issue manager’s bank account details in the payment portal while processing the SIP for Nabil Investment Banking, as the payment procedure doesn’t show other-party, third-party, and personal QR codes and details for the first installment.

You can also save that link by bookmarking it for next login. Note your installment date. Confirm the dividend instruction once more. When units appear, reconcile them against the amount invested and the applicable NAV. SIPNP’s other guides cover NAV and scheme education; the calculators on this site are for planning arithmetic only and do not process real payments.
